Judge Eric Brown Seeks Election
To Probate Court

Judge Eric Brown has more than 30 years experience as an attorney and judge. His background and experience show that he is well-qualified to be Judge of the Probate Court.  For 13 years Judge Eric Brown was engaged in a private law practice in Cleveland, handling business, real estate matters, and probate law issues. He was one of the first lawyers in Ohio to develop a law practice serving the needs of the elderly and their families.

He has spoken frequently to seniors and to social service organizations about planning for growing older. Judge Eric Brown seeks the office of Probate Court Judge with substantial experience in dealing with the matters that come before the probate court.  Judge Eric Brown has a solid background in business and management that that qualifies him to serve as Probate Court Judge. He also was elected to serve on a local school board, where he learned good management skills.

Judge Eric Brown served 11 years as an Assistant Attorney, where he worked as both a lawyer and as a manager. He successfully managed a staff of 70, including lawyers, investigators, consumer specialists, and support staff. He helped to coordinate the work of six law firms serving as outside counsel, supervising a core team of eight staff attorneys, and coordinating Ohio’s efforts with more than 40 other states.

Judge Eric Brown is enthusiastic about serving Franklin County as Probate Court Judge. He shares my passion for public service with his wife, Marilyn Brown, who now serves Franklin County as President of the Board of Commissioners.  They have two adult daughters: Daryn, who is a stage manager and event planner in New York City, and Beryl, who is a lawyer at the Ohio Industrial Commission and graduate of the Moritz College of Law at The Ohio State University. They have two grandsons, Vincent and Max.
The Somali Link recommends that African immigrants vote for Judge Eric Brown to Franklin County Probate Court, because he works hard to understand Somali culture and concerns, especially about the kinds of issues that the Probate Court handles: wills and estates, marriage licenses, adoptions of children, and hearings about mental illness.

Judge Eric Brown meets often with Somali community leaders. He attended a day-long training program about Somali culture, and all the speakers were Somali community leaders.  Judge Eric Brown treats all people in his courtroom with respect. He listens carefully to all people, regardless of their different nationality, religion or culture. Judge Brown is eager to learn more about the Somali culture and issues.   The Somali community believes Judge Eric Brown is well qualified to be elected Probate Court Judge.
